If anyone else wants to get the older editions, there are TONS of copies in the "Used" section on Amazon. It's like digging around in a charming used bookshop without the icky smells and weird fungi :)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying out the recipes you like so much!Brian Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11211403432599818043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157527.post-1100463881370425402004-11-14T15:24:00.000-05:002004-11-14T15:24:00.000-05:00Hi Renee - thanks! The interesting thing about that book is that it is illustrated by Maida Heatter herself. If you can get a hold of Maida Heatter's Book of Great Cookies, I know you'll like it!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11194828903719000019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157527.post-1100333910375310572004-11-13T03:18:00.000-05:002004-11-13T03:18:00.000-05:00hi Cathy,

It is the same book I have, just a later printing. The book at Amazon is a different book that includes all the recipes from the 1977 book as well as some from Maida Heatter's New Book of Great Desserts (1982) and Maida Heatter's Book of Great American Desserts (1985), but the recipes have been slightly updated and the Toni Evins illustrations aren't there (there are a few illustrations, but no where near the quality of those in the old book).Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11194828903719000019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157527.post-1099986202435646482004-11-09T02:43:00.000-05:002004-11-09T02:43:00.000-05:00Hi Cathy,

I'm sure you'll have me ordering the book in no time. I just recently got the new King Arthur Cookie Companion and may just have to join you on some Mondays. I don't think I'm ambitious enough to get through them all, but maybe with time.
